The Drive-Thru Nativity in Cameron Park on December 16-17th 2022, promised to bring the
community together, and it delivered. Visitors from all over the area came to the parking lot outside of the
Cameron Park church building on Hacienda Rd. to view reenactments of key scenes surrounding
the birth of Jesus Christ.

Entitled, “Charity Never Faileth,” attendees rolled up their sleeves and helped with a variety of service projects. Projects included making blankets for Linus Project, sewing surgery comfort pillows for Marshall Hospital, crocheting washcloths bundled with a bar of soap for the Upper Room, writing Sunshine Letters for Snowline Hospice, and donating gently used children’s books for Kids in Need.

Christmas is right around the corner. Before the pandemic, many religious communities celebrated Christ’s birth by staging live nativity events where crowds of people could seemingly go back in time to Old Bethlehem and witness the first nativity for themselves, with scenes depicting Caesar Augustus’ decree, Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, shepherds marveling over the new star, heavenly hosts singing, wise men bearing gifts, and the joyful, holy scene of the Christ child with Mary and Joseph in the lowly stable.
